Festivities
There is a festivity today,
A festivity that will bring happiness and joyous moments,
There is excitement, shopping, planning, inviting friends.
There was also a death a few months back,
A death that gave me guilt and grief, shock and shame,
There was anger and bitterness, denial and disbelief.
No regretting, bargaining, or questioning helped.
The euphoria and festivities continue around me,
While I silently suffer from my loss and trauma.
